Meet at the Parlour of Park & Oak, get checked-in and let the evening begin to unfold. With only 60 tickets available, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a unique and captivating story. You'll be divided into groups of 12 and escorted by your “detective” into five different storefronts, where you will interview the suspects and piece together the puzzle.

The excitement builds as all groups reconvene for the grand reveal where you'll finally discover the answer to the burning question: “Who did it and Why???"

This is not your 'sit around and watch’ kind of murder mystery event! You are inside the action, interviewing the suspects and trekking through town. By the time it comes to offer your solution, you will be surprised how involved you have become!

This event is in partnership with Westside Improv who has done an incredible job writing the story and providing the actors for this event.

THE STORY

This May in Glen Ellyn, as cherry blossoms fade and summer begins to bloom... a cultural celebration turns... deadly.

On May 29th, a diverse group of Japanese art and culture enthusiasts gathers for an exclusive sake and Japanese cocktail tasting at Park & Oak, in anticipation of the opening of the prestigious “Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World” exhibition opening at the College of DuPage.

When a Midwestern couple dies mid-event after sampling specialty drinks, questions immediately arise. Was one the intended target and the other collateral damage or was this an intentional double murder? Was it the overzealous scholars competing for recognition? The high-stakes art dealers with secrets to protect? The anime superfans who noticed something they shouldn't have? Or perhaps the martial arts enthusiasts with something to prove?

You're the detective in this interactive walking mystery. Explore Glen Ellyn's streets and shops, each concealing potential clues and suspects. Interview the eclectic group of cultural enthusiasts and unravel the truth before the killer disappears like a wave in Hokusai's famous print.

In NŌ-GUN, nothing is as it appears – especially when murder comes with a Japanese twist.

THE DETAILS

- Tickets are $65 per person. Upon registration you will receive all your materials needed for the evening.

- Registration location will be at the Parlour of Park & Oak, located at 499 Pennsylvania Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

- Check in time will begins at 4:30 pm for a reception of light bites from Marche with a cash bar. This event will begin at 6:00 pm until approximately 8:30 pm. Please bring a valid State ID along with your ticket confirmation. This is a 21+ event.

- The starting location is at the Parlour of Park & Oak, you will walk in small groups to 5 clue locations which are storefronts in Downtown Glen Ellyn as part of the event, and then all meet back together for the final reveal.

- Guests will be divided into groups of 12. Upon purchasing your ticket select the same group number as your friends if you wish to be together. If there is an issue, email us to see if we can help.

- Each group will be escorted by an actor from Westside Improv walking round-robin into 5 different storefronts finding clues and learning more about the story along the way.

- This is a walking event covering over 2 blocks in the downtown walking back and forth. All storefronts are ADA accessible. Wear comfy shoes!

- Tickets are non-refundable. Our ticketing service is Ticket Tailor who uses PayPal which is who you will see on your credit card statement.

Unless otherwise indicated, outdoor events occur rain or shine. If lightning or other dangerous weather is imminent or present, Downtown Glen Ellyn reserves the right to cancel or delay any remaining event activities. Updates on the status of an interrupted or canceled event will be posted to Facebook and Instagram @downtownglenellyn. Please note that event websites and social media pages may not be immediately updated to reflect weather-related changes. If a ticketed event is canceled, Downtown Glen Ellyn will email ticket buyers with options for their unused tickets.

Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. If a ticketed event is canceled, Downtown Glen Ellyn will email ticket purchasers to advise them of available options.

Our ticketing platform, Ticket Tailor, processes payments through PayPal, which is what will appear on your credit card statement. You do not need a PayPal account to complete your purchase. Please note that these charges correspond to your event tickets from Downtown Glen Ellyn.

Downtown Glen Ellyn takes photographs and videos of attendees for the purpose of promoting our events, programs, membership, and community initiatives. By attending any Downtown Glen Ellyn event or promotion, the participant (or parent/guardian of a minor participant) agrees to the use and distribution of their image/likeness (or that of a minor child/ward) in photographs, video recordings, and any other electronic reproductions of such activities for any purpose, without inspection, compensation, or any other consideration now or in the future unless noted prior to the event.

The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn is a 501c6 non-profit organization comprised of dedicated business owners with a goal to be an economic driver for the central business district and to create Glen Ellyn as a destination for Chicagoland. We are supported by the Village of Glen Ellyn, members, sponsors, and events.

Our goal is to increase foot traffic and sales in the central business district by marketing promotions and planning events that heighten awareness and visibility of Downtown Glen Ellyn. We promote Downtown Glen Ellyn as a destination for shoppers and diners, not only for Glen Ellyn residents, but also for visitors from surrounding communities of Chicago.
