Downtown business owners are dedicated to driving the economic success of Glen Ellyn and increasing its visibility in DuPage County. The focus of the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn is to drive sales; market the downtown to attract shoppers, diners, and future residents; and act as a liaison between the Village of Glen Ellyn and downtown business owners. By combining our creative resources and energy we can accomplish more than any one business or individual could on their own. We hope you join us in our mission.
We invite you to join us as a member of the downtown Glen Ellyn business community. We are excited you chose Glen Ellyn to grow your business. The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn is here to help you. The following are resources that are available to participating businesses.
WEBSITE DIRECTORY & MAP:
Members will be listed in all appropriate categories in the on-line directory, with full contact details including image, company name, company description, address, clickable phone number, and hyper-link to website. All non-member businesses will be listed once in their main category including image, company name, description and phone.
Members will be listed by category on a downtown map containing all retail, dining, and service businesses. The downtown map will be displayed on two kiosks on Main Street, on the Alliance website, in monthly eblasts, and in links on every event and printed for general distribution.
EVENTS:
Members participate in downtown events with no registration cost. Our events are designed to drive revenue and increase awareness of Downtown Glen Ellyn. Businesses may have additional costs for sips and bites for guests by store. Alliance will absorb all liquor license costs. Your business name and/or logo will be on the event web page, walking maps, email blasts and marketing when participating in events.
MONTHLY DOWNTOWN GLEN ELLYN NEWSLETTER:
The Downtown Monthly Newsletter has now over 3,200 subscribers and is distributed on the 1st of each month to highlight all members divided in categories of Dine, Shop, & Play. Members who submit their promotion are highlighted featured each month at no extra cost. The newsletter serves as an excellent vehicle for promoting your business and special events.
SOCIAL MEDIA:
Alliance Members will have their social media shared, liked, commented on the Downtown Glen Ellyn pages and stories. Please tag the Downtown Glen Ellyn pages to notify of your post. The Alliance will also create new original social media campaigns throughout the year. We will visit your store for footage and filming. Storefronts involved in events will also be featured prior and post event. Downtown Glen Ellyn currently is on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube consistently. We are scheduling a calendar of reels for 2024.
MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:
The entire Alliance membership is invited to a general membership meeting on the third Wednesday of each month located somewhere within downtown or on Zoom. The meeting runs from 8:30 – 9:30 am. It is a helpful hour where Alliance members join together to discuss business issues, plan events, share concerns, best practices and collaborate.
ALLIANCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Alliance Board of Directors consists of voting members representing retailers, restaurants, spas/salons and downtown residents. In addition, ex-officio members include the Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce. Alliance members in good standing can be elected to the Board of Directors and may serve for two consecutive two-year terms.
The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn is excited about the future of our downtown and working in partnership with the Village and other community organizations. We welcome all downtown businesses to join in the many opportunities to contribute to the economic health of the downtown.
