 I'm a Glen Ellyn resident that makes fun, unique & useful items out of wood that include pizza cutters, ice cream scoops, bottle openers, charcutterie & cutting boards to name just a few items. Majority of my work is on lathes & I've enjoyed being part of this show for the past several years.

I do my own nature/adventure photography sublimated onto home goods and everyday items. My passion is to make art from nature that people can bring home, when they can't be out in nature. I also customize photos on the spot at events.

I do mixed-media photographic collage sometimes with my drawings. Often I make miniature rooms with doll house props that are part of a piece. I print with pigment dye on archival watercolor paper and often hand color a black and white piece.

I paint landscapes in oils, occasionally a still life or hybrid of the two. I build my own stretchers and stretch my own canvases. Development of imagery is by means of my own photography.

 My work depicts vibrant florals with textured, expressionist backgrounds. The flowers are painted realistically. I use various techniques and stencils to create each unique background.

Materials used include hand pressed organics from our flower garden as well as crushed gemstones in specific designs. The materials can be set in hand pigmented resin or clay. Necklaces are constructed with either stainless steel, 14k gold-filled or sterling silver chain & hand wired to clasps.

 I primarily paint with watercolor on cold-press paper, working from light to dark and starting with broader shapes before adding smaller details.

Most of my art is created by "playing with paint." More often than not, it starts out intuitively and layers are slowly added until here is a depth of color and interest. I often begin on damp canvas to get an almost watercolor effect as my base, then add layer by layer of color.

 The main body of my work I take the photo in color then remove all color digitally except my subject and/or focal point. Inspired by the hand painted photo.It gives the feel of hand painted but i give the color as it was shot not computer generated .acid free materials are used in my products sold.

I’m a Glen Ellyn based artist that also teaches preschool. I create stories with my artwork and leave interpretations up to the viewer. I love to play with patterns and shapes. Bold colors can make my work fun and playful or make you question the story presented by the painting

I start with a sketch of a flower/plant for composition. Then I transfer the sketch to watercolor paper, Fabriano 100% cotton paper. I use watercolor wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and lifting techniques.

 I bring forward the art and history of the barn quilts of the upper mid-west using recycled barn wood. The textures and colors time has given the barn wood lends itself well to my art. I have also been using exotic hardwoods, the graining of which gives depth and color to my quilts.

 I use acrylic paint for my folk art paintings. Sometimes I use mixed media, especially for my abstract expressionism pieces. I use canvas and paper the most as substrates. I mostly create folk art and abstract work, and a small amount of realism.

I am a letterpress printer. I print limited edition prints and greeting cards on a treadle (foot) powered 1930's printing press. All designs are created using hand-set antique wood and metal type. I use heavyweight high-quality cotton papers and hand mixed ink colors.

 My oil painting process begins with observation, research, and the development of an initial concept. I collect visual references, make sketches, and consider the composition, color relationships, and overall mood I want the painting to convey. .

 My work is a colorful melding of patterns and animals. Each piece is made of intricately cut thin wood sheets painted with acrylic. Several sheets are layered and spaced out making the work three dimensional, producing shadows and parallax.

Handwoven cloth is designed, threads measured, then put on the weaving loom to create. Each piece of cloth is then made into a scarf, shawl, or clothing/fashion item. Each piece is one of a kind. Using only natural and sustainable fibers.

  The emphasis of my work has stayed consistent over the past 28 years; I am a functional potter. I am using cone 6 stoneware clay and glazes that compliment my forms in an oxidation firing environment.

 I hand forge sterling silver and compose natural beach stones into jewelry. I drill each stone and hand work the silver details, also will use natural stone beads. All my silver finds are hand made.

 My glass artwork is about the joining of functionality and beauty. I love the look and flow of glass and how light can make the glass take on a life of its own. Over the years I have worked with several glass techniques, including, lampworking, fusing, casting and stained glass.

 I combine traditional and digital methods, using wheel throwing and hand-building for functional pieces, and slip casting with 3D-modeled molds for decorative works. This process ensures each item has a personal touch, complex design, and consistent quality.

We kiln or torch fire Thompson enamels and precious metal clay designs. We manipulate or braid leather and pewter thread. We also use precious and semi-precious stones for embellishment in bracelets and sterling silver chain mail. We also work in glass.

 Stoneware clay is wheel thrown and hand formed, refined, dried then fired to bisque using my wheel and kiln. Commercial glazes are brushed on in one-of-a-kind, joyous neo-vintage designs. Finally, pieces are fired again to ^6 (~ 2200*) to create functional, food safe wares in a range of forms.

 Our small batch, handcrafted bags and accessories are created by local refugee women in Glen Ellyn. Our products are unique and thoughtfully designed, using some upcycled fabrics. Renew provides these women with employment and creates a community of creativity, dignity, and peace.

All images are made in-camera with a full-frame Canon and processed with minimal manipulation in Lightroom 6. I provide direct supervision of printing on Fuji Crystal Archive emulsion mounted on a smooth solid aluminum substrate. All images are signed and numbered as limited-edition prints.

I often create very controlled Venetian-style pieces, but I prefer to allow hot glass to communicate to me where it wants to go. It's a liquid, so let it be one!

 I source antique buttons from the Victorian era to 1960's. These special buttons have historical significance and stories to tell. I hand forge silver components, use gold filled, plated metals and semi-precious gemstones. I create unique designs that balance the old with the new.

My artwork medium is colorful enamel jewelry. Vitreous enamels are applied over the copper or brass metal base pieces. Multiple layers of enamel are sifted onto the piece, then the piece is kiln or torch fired. Designs are hand painted or stenciled on finished pieces and fired one last time.
